Administrative Regulation No. 13/2024 “Regime for the installation and operation of data centers” has come to effect on 1^st April, 2024. According to the provisions of the above Administrative Regulation, the installation and operation of the data center required prior authorization from the Chief Executive. So far, the MSAR Government has only granted authorization to Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau S.A.R.L. to install and operate data center. If other companies have interest in installing and operating data centers in Macau, they may submit applications to the Chief Executive in accordance with the aforementioned Administrative Regulation.
