To continuously enhance communication and collaboration between the telecommunications regulatory authorities of the two regions, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) and the Guangdong Communications Administration (GCA) held the “Guangdong-Macao Bilateral Meeting on Telecommunications Regulation” in Macao on June 27. The meeting was jointly chaired by the Acting Director of CTT, Lao Lan Wa, and the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of GCA, Cai Lizhi. In addition to exchanging updates on the latest development trends in the telecommunications sector in Guangdong and Macao, both authorities engaged in in-depth discussions on a range of key topics, including the development of 6G, combating telecommunications fraud, cybersecurity governance, the development of innovative applications of artificial intelligence, telecommunications regulation, and the development opportunities for telecommunications services in the integration process of Macao and Hengqin, for promoting practical alignment in technological development and regulatory coordination between both sides.

        This meeting not only further strengthened mutual trust and the foundation of cooperation between both sides, but also opened up new prospects for future cooperation between Guangdong and Macao in areas such as emerging communication technologies and coordinated regulatory mechanisms.
